I am in the process of completing my Equine Cranio-Sacral Therapy certification course. Once I am done, I will have completed multiple written tests, a few videoed tests, and 3 case studies.
The International Association of Animal Massage & Bodywork is an association that supports networking between animal bodyworkers, and is a good measure of credibility as there are strict requirements to become and stay an IAAMB member.
The Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals is an association that supports lifelong learning and proper practice among animal bodyworkers. There are strict education, and continuing education requirements to become and stay a member of the ABMP. I am also insured through the ABMP.
I studied at the University of Findlay for four years. During my time there, I studied equine law, farm and stable management, equine marketing and sales, and many equine science topics.
I studied at the University of Findlay for four years, spending seven days a week at the barn working, managing, and training horses. My coursework covered colt starting, finishing green horses, and preparing horses for the show pen, along with academic studies in nutrition, reproduction, preventative medicine, and exercise physiology. Because of an injury, I was able to compete in only three of the four years of the Western program, so I earned the two-year training degree. The University of Findlay’s Western program includes training in colt breaking, reining, western pleasure, horsemanship, showmanship, trail, and related equine science coursework.
